National Day Celebration
at One Punggol

Client People's Association

One Punggol is the new integrated lifestyle and community hub designed to meet the needs of Punggol residents, which recently attained TOP status. However, the People's Association had yet to take over the building from the main contractor due to several facilities undergoing completion.

The linchpin of this National Day Celebration planning was identifying and proposing engaging activities to the residents. The plan for One Punggol was to house many such community events in the future, and this event serves as a stress test for the infrastructure and facilities. Of course, the client was eager to drive awareness for this new building to the residents of Punggol, which were made up significantly of young families with children.

Bringing the community together

In response to the demographics of our target, we arranged for carnival activities, stage performances, food stalls and snack items to give away.

We also worked with the Community Centre to organise performances from schools in Punggol, such as Punggol Secondary School, Edgefield Secondary School, and SIT.

It was heartening to see thousands of people show up as early as 9 am to engage in mass workout sessions and collect free goodie bags! The various stage performances drew the crowd's attention, and the animal magic show entranced the children up close.

MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC SM Teo Chee Hean and Dr Janil Puthucheary also greeted the residents who attended the celebration. The celebration, which stretched from morning to night, saw constant human traffic alongside the planned activities. The day's highlight would have to be the finale - the live broadcast of the National Day Parade on the giant LED screen - bringing the community closer together.
